Amazing

Date: 15th Dec 2021 @ 10:24am

We have been reading the story 'Amazing' by Steve Anthony. When we came into school morning we found a dragon. Mrs Wally tried to catch it but as she held it it flew away, we decided it must be scared. The children made lost posters and stuck them around school. We shared our ideas during carpet time about how to get the Dragon back. We decided we needed to make him a nice home. The children worked hard on the creative table using a range of media to make houses and beds for the Dragon. Some children even made telescopes to help spot the Dragon. We enjoy making our own dragon masks in the creative area. Outside the children decided to make a house for the Dragon and they work together using the large bricks to make a home that had a bedroom, kitchen and a comfy living room.

We reunited Zibbo back with his owner Sam! Zibbo wanted us to help him to get home, so we called Sam’s mum and we made Zibbo a warm cosy bed until he was collected from school at dinner time.

Take a look at our video of when Zibbo the dragon flew away. The children were so excited and this generated lots of language about where Zibbo had gone and the children came up with lots of ideas about how to get Zibbo back.

Welcome to Mount Carmel RC Primary; a place where we proclaim Christ’s message of hope and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
