Easter 2018 (Week Commencing 26th March)
1S have had a very busy week this week. With so much learning to do about Easter and crafting and creating, it's a wonder how we fitted it all in.
In RE this week we have been taking a closer look at the Easter story We visited the stations of the cross in the school grounds and imagined we were in Jerusalem at the time of Jesus' death. We reflected on what the people must have seen, thought and felt at this time and specifically what was happening at the time of Jesus' death. We also sequenced and retold the Easter story, culminating in Jesus' rising on Easter Sunday.
To celebrate Easter we have been very busy being crafty and creative. We designed and made our very own Easter gardens to represent the Easter Story and also created Easter cards to send home to our loved ones. We constructed Easter baskets (to hold whatever the Easter bunny might have left for us to find at school) and also created stained glass windows from card, tissue paper and sticky back plastic. I hope the children enjoy sharing their work with you as they have all worked so hard on their respective creations.
