Investigating water resistance

Investigating the effects of water resistance

As part of our topic on forces we have been looking at the effects water resistance has on objects as they move through water. We designed an experiment to see which shaped objects moved quickest through water. We predicted that longer and thinner shapes, those that were more stremlined, would fall faster than shapes with a larger surface area. The larger the surface area, the more water resistance we predicted there would be.

Today we carried out our experiement and gathered our results ready for analysis.

Welcome to Mount Carmel RC Primary; a place where we proclaim Christ’s message of hope and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
