Year 6M’s Unconditional Love Debate

Date: 7th Nov 2019 @ 4:07pm

Last term, we focused on the idea of unconditional love and how we can give and receive this. We looked at examples of scripture, of real life scenarios and examples of films to show how unconditional love can be demonstrated. We then had a whole class debate of whether it was possible for all humans to show unconditional love. Here, we talked at length and separated the class into teams: for and against the statement. This was interesting as we had to argue our point of view with evidence. We then realised that this was a balanced argument and we could sympathise with two points of view. We then wrote this out as a balanced argument in our RE books. At times, this was tricky as although there were fantastic examples of how humans show unconditional love, we also had to discuss those who maybe don’t show this and discuss forgiveness... which leads on to our next lesson.

Welcome to Mount Carmel RC Primary; a place where we proclaim Christ’s message of hope and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
