5H 2021 - 2022

Miss Hegarty

5H21.jpgWelcome to Year 5H!

Miss Hegarty and Mrs Du Plessis are both looking forward to a fantastic year together with our class. We can’t wait to see our children grow and develop academically into aspiring young people.

Please keep up to date with our page to see what your children are learning about throughout the year.

Reading - This must be completed every day and the reading record book should be signed once you have heard your child read. Your child will be assigned a day to have their reading heard in school. Their reading record book will be checked daily to ensure they are reading at home. Books must be returned on your child's assigned day so that they can be changed for the following week.

Spellings - These are given out on a Monday and will be available on Seesaw. Please ensure spellings homework is completed and returned on Seesaw by Friday morning. Spellings should be practised nightly. There will be a weekly spelling test every Friday in school.

Maths - Maths homework will be available on Seesaw. Please ensure it is completed and returned on Seesaw. Please encourage your child to practise times tables and number bonds daily by using the website 'Hit the Button'. This will greatly assist children to increase the speed and accuracy of recall which will hugely support their learning in maths.

Summer Term

Please keep visiting our page to see the wonderful work that our children produce.

PE lessons will be on a Wednesday and a Friday. Please make sure that your child comes to school on these days wearing their PE uniform (white t-shirt, navy shorts/ joggers, navy sweatshirt and trainers).
