Nursery 2 2021 - 2022
Welcome to Nursery 2!
Welcome to Nursery 2. We are the Foxes group! Our class teachers are Mrs Flanagan and Mrs Grayson. We are also supported by our wonderful Teaching Assistants, Mrs Sloan, Mrs Pitcher and Mrs Ford.
In Nursery we are challenged to become independent learners through exciting continuous provision and guided activities. We are looking forward to sharing the fantastic work we do with you all, watch this space for regular updates!
Our class saint is St Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint of animals. On his feast day, we will celebrate in Nursery by coming into school dressed as our favourite animal.
Our topic this half term is Traditonal Tales
Our key texts this term are 'The Gingerbread man' and 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'
We will enjoy listening to stories and retelling them in small groups. We will be enjoying learning new songs and singing during group time. Please see our Medium term plan for more details.
Special events we will be celebrating this half term:-
We are growing to be Eloquent and truthful
Chinese New Year- 1st February
Presentation of Jesus- 15th February

We record significant moments in your child's time in Nursery on their Tapestry account. Please login to see what your child has been doing. You can comment on observations made and also upload any of your own photos and observations that you would like to share with us.
As a way to support the development of your child's speaking and listening skills, we send home 'weekend news' sheets every Friday. Please talk with your child about one thing they have done at the weekend and note this briefly on the sheet (photos can be uploaded to tapestry - as they act as a great way to support children in recalling past events). Please send this sheet into Nursery the following Monday morning so that your child can share their news during snack and chat time.
Fox of the Week
Each Friday a child is chosen to take Freddy the Fox home for the weekend. We encourage parents to take photos of what your child and Freddy the Fox have been doing over the weekend and email these upload to school. They are then shared with the class during Monday morning snack and chat time.
Please remember to label all items of clothing and footwear.
Please ensure your child has spare clothing on their peg.
