Healthy Living, Physical Activity & Sports

Children are encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle at Mount Carmel. Through the topic Brainwave and other topics, the children are taught the importance of eating a balanced diet, drinking water, getting a good night sleep and being physically active. Children are able to engage in physical activity and the sporting life of the school through our many clubs: Irish dancing, multi- sports, football, netball, basketball and street dance.

Active Playtimes

Playground Friends set up equipment and games for the children. During lunchtime in the Juniors, City in the Community target specific year groups for physical activity.

Wellbeing Breaks

Wellbeing breaks of 15 minutes in the afternoon provide additional time to be physically active in the day.
