British Science Week - Living Things and their Habitats

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 5W Year: 2021 - 2022

Year 5W Working Scientifically Unknown.jpegUnknown-1.jpeg

As part of our unit Living Things and their Habitats, and in celebration of British Science Week 2022, the children of 5W visited our local nature reserve Boggart Hole Clough today.

We recorded data of different leaves and trees we found on our visit; identifying the most popular leaf and tree found in Boggart Hole Clough and creating a hypothesis of the types of animals we may also find here considering which animals use specific vegetation to build their habitats.

Working cross-curriculuarly with our Geography unit - the Rainforest - we observed first hand precipation and transpiration occuring in leaves by investigating their different colours, textures and weight.

Welcome to Mount Carmel RC Primary; a place where we proclaim Christ’s message of hope and celebrate the uniqueness of each child.
