During art week, we learnt all about Alma Thomas. She was an American artist who inspired many women, African-Americans and older artists with her paintings. She was inspired by nature to create colourful patterns in her artwork. We had a go at recreating her painting A Fantastic Sunset using impasto. Then we looked at inspiring landscapes and thought about what colours were in them. We used the colours to create our own paintings. Finally, we used mosaic pieces to recreate our artwork.
