Caring for a new baby

Our special little visitors
We have had two very tiny visitors (and their mummies) in Nursery today. Jen and Keeley helped us to learn about how to take care of a baby. They told us that baby Austin and baby Mya drink lots of milk and like to sleep lots too! We learned that babies cry when they need their nappy changed or when they need a cuddle.
Keeley told us that baby Mya sleeps in a special bed called a Moses basket and that she has a bath tub just big enough for her and that she uses a special sponge and baby bath to keep Mya clean.
Jen showed us some of baby Austin’s clothes and the nappies that he wears. They were tiny! She showed us how to wind baby Austin to make sure he doesn’t get a sore tummy after his milk. She also told us that Austin likes to be rocked and to listen to her sing to help him sleep. We helped Austin to fall asleep by singing “Twinkle twinkle little star” using our quiet voices.
After our visitors left we decided to take good care of our dolls. We changed their nappies, bathed them and dressed them. We even rocked them to sleep and put them in their cot!
