Nursery 2024 - 2025

Mrs Flanagan

Nursery

Welcome to Nursery. Our class teacher is Mrs Flanagan. We are also supported by our wonderful Teaching Assistants, Mrs Borg-Fenech, Mrs McGuiness, Mrs Sloan and Mrs Yasin.

In Nursery we are challenged to become independent learners through exciting continuous provision and guided activities.

Our class saint is St Francis of Assisi. He is the patron saint of animals. On his feast day, we will celebrate in Nursery by coming into school dressed as our favourite animal.

Parent Information

Proud Cloud

We would love for you to share moments, experiences or firsts that your child has achieved at home so that we can share them during group time and display them on our Proud Cloud for all to see!

Story Time

In Nursery we encourage a love of reading. Each day we have dedicated story time where we read one of our favourite five texts selected for the half term.

Lending Library

Each week your child will be able to choose a book from our lending library that they can share with you at home.

News from Home

Each Friday your child will be given a 'News from Home' sheet. Please talk with your child about their weekend and then write one thing that they have done on this sheet (e.g. swimming lesson, football session, a walk in the park, went shopping etc). We will share weekend news during Monday's snack and chat time. Please hand this sheet to a member of staff on Monday morning.

Fox and Hedgehog of the Week

Each Friday a child is chosen to take Freddy Fox and Harry Hedgehog home for the weekend. We encourage parents to take photos of what your child and Freddy/Harry have been doing over the weekend and add this to Freddy's/Harry's diary. They are then shared with the class during Monday morning snack and chat time. Your child is also invited to bring in a story to share during story time.

Please ensure your child brings in a labelled water bottle each day.

Please ensure your child has a waterproof coat and suitable footwear each day.

Wellies can be brought in and left in school.

Please ensure your child has lots of spare clothing on their peg.

Please remember to label all items of clothing and footwear.
