Chinese New Year

Today we have had lots of fun learning about Chinese New Year.

We watched some videos about how people get ready to celebrate Chinese New Year and about the special activities they do. We also watched a street party with a funfair, dragon, lion and unicorn. We learnt that this year was the Year of the Ox. We were born in the year of the goat/ sheep (2015) or the year of the monkey (2016).

Then we practised doing some ribbon dancing using scarves. We made circle shapes and different wavy patterns just like we watched in the videos.

We made Chinese Lanterns using our scissors skills and decorating them with glitter and colour.
