My Hair

We have been reading the story 'My Hair' by Hannah Lee. In the story the little girl can't decide how she will have her hair styled for her birthday. The children have enjoyed designing their own hairstyles and taking them to our hairdressing role-play area to get their friends to create their styles. We even had our own birthday party. We wrote invitations and party lists, made party hats and we even made party food on the malleable table. We finished the week with some dancing to our favourite songs and played pass the parcel with a phonics twist, each layer had a sound that we've been learning about in phonics.
