Pancake Day and Ash Wednesday

We loved eating delicious pancakes on Tuesday (we missed Shrove Tuesday in Half Term!). We had a traditional topping of lemon and sugar and learnt about why we celebrate Shrove Tuesday and why we eat pancakes. We also learnt about how different countries celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Today we learnt about Ash Wednesday and remembered how the priest usually puts ashes on our heads in the shape of a cross. It is now Lent, we are trying to be more like Jesus everyday.
