Prayers for Peace in Ukraine

We gathered together in church to pray for peace in Ukraine. We prayed for the people of Ukraine and for all those suffering and afraid.

Prayer leaders in Year 6 and Year 3 led the service beautifully. Each class presented their drawings, paintings and prayers for peace and placed them on the altar steps.  In a moment of quiet reflection and prayer, a member of each class lit a candle to remember those who are suffering.

We are continuing to pray for Ukraine and we are taking part in various fundraising events to raise money for the millions of people who need humanitarian aid due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Loving God,
We pray for the people of Ukraine,
for all those suffering or afraid,
that you will be close to them and protect them.

We pray for world leaders,
for compassion, strength and wisdom to guide their choices.

We pray for the world
that in this moment of crisis,
we may reach out in solidarity
to our brothers and sisters in need.

May we walk in your ways
so that peace and justice
become a reality for the people of Ukraine
and for all the world.
