Shove Tuesday

The children in Early Years have had a lovely day learning all about Shove Tuesday. We learnt about getting ready for lent and how people use up all the food in their cupboards like eggs, flour and milk. We learnt how to make pancakes and even made our own. We enjoyed eating our pancakes with our friends.

We have also found out that in other counties Shrove Tuesday is called Mardi Gras which mean 'Fat Tuesday' People enjoy eating lots of food ready for Lent. They take part in Mardi Gras festivals where people dance and parade wearing bright masks. The children in EYFS have enjoyed making their own masks and this afternoon we had our own Mardi Gras parade. Take a look at our video below.
