Springtime learning outside

The children in our EYFS have enjoyed some spring activities outside this week. We have been busy making a bug hotel. The children have been exploring our school to find natural resources to fill our hotel. We look forward to exploring this further and we are exciting to see who visits.🐞🐜🕷️

In our mud kitchen area the children have been learning that potatoes grow under the soil. They have enjoyed digging out the potatoes and counting how many they have found.

In our funky fingers area the children have been cutting flowers and adding them to scented water to make perfume.

We have also been making bird seed biscuits for the birds to enjoy.

This week the children have also enjoyed experimenting with paint linked to out Reception artist Kandinsky.

The Nursery children have explored shapes and used large pieces of paper to make their own large Matisse style picture. They enjoyed ripping the paper and creating with their friends.
