This week we have launched our new Science topic – Sound!

Sam, the Sound Man, came into school and demonstrated how sound travels through solids, liquids and gases. We looked at soundwaves and how changes in a noise make them look different. We investigated what changes the pitch and volume of sound and how this can travel at different speeds too.

In the afternoon we used all our new knowledge to make musical instruments. We made xylophones, panpipes, drums, rain makers, recorders and wind chimes, using new skills and different tools and techniques.
