Year 1 have been exploring the world of sculpture in their art lessons! Inspired by the work of artist Andy Goldsworthy, they learned about creating art from natural forms. Using materials like leaves, stones, sticks and fir cones, the children crafted their own temporary sculptures, focusing on shape, texture, and patterns found in nature. This creative project allowed them to connect with the environment around them and express their artistic ideas in a unique, hands-on way. Their sculptures beautifully captured the spirit of Goldsworthy’s work, blending art with nature!
